January 2012 - Street Photography in Greenwich

And the ladies of Greenwich....
It's wonderful seeing the "young at heart" out at the markets.
This great lady was spotted at the Greenwich Clock Tower market perusing the
unique items available at the antique/flea market.  You never know what treasure might
be found at these markets....  my favorite was the images captured!
More to follow on this post tomorrow.
Above is a late addition to the January street photography posting.
Regret I have been off-line for a bit and am now just catching up.  I've been
pre-occupied with organizing my photo files and working with some new
software so have been delinquent in my postings of late.
February postings will start shortly and I'll hopefully be back on
track for regular postings again at that time!

January 2012 - Street Photography in Greenwich

A Market Man...
Another market visited this past weekend was the Greenwich Market.
It was a cold day at the market but that didn't stop the vendors.
This chap was bundled in his sweater, scarf, and hat for a busy day of sales
at the market.  The constant flow of people visiting his market table
made it difficult to get a good shot of him so I was
pleased to get the images below.

January 2012 - Street Photography on Brick Lane

Portraits on Brick Lane...

As evident from the collection of portraits here, the faces of Brick Lane are many and vary greatly.
This interesting gentlemen was spotted trying to sell peacock feathers on a cold winter day.

This great looking couple was spotted on Brick Lane.
I loved their look as did others --- they attracted lots of attention.
This photo and the one below are just a sampling of the awesome
folks you can see on Brick Lane.  For more interesting street photography
from Brick Lane check out my photo walk buddy and
fellow blogger Bill's recent post.

Spotted this friendly guy while walking through the markets on Brick Lane this past weekend.
When he spotted me aiming the camera his way his response was pleasing -- giving me a quick grin
and not minding the photo being taken at all.   I thanked him and went on my way
as he was talking to a friend at the time.  I loved his look and his mixed collection of goods
for sale to include a variety of antique items from tea cups to framed art work and light fixtures.
The weather was cold and clear this weekend resulting in a busy day
at the markets -- hope his day of sales was as good as our was collecting images.

January 2012 - Street Photography on Marylebone High Street

All in a days work...
I find London to be pretty clean city as far as large cities go and there are a lot of people
working to keep it that way.  This guy is one of the many hard working people
helping to keep London clean.  Every day there are city workers out sweeping
the side walks, collecting trash, and generally improving the city.
Given the thousands of people walking the streets of this wonderful city
it is inevitable you will see trash bags waiting to be picked up, or a food wrapper
on the curb.  That said, I think London is pretty clean for a city of its size.
There are so many other parts of the world with unbelievably dirty cities
it's nice to visit a city that takes pride in keeping the streets clean.
This young man saw me aiming my camera at him and continued on
doing the task at hand emptying the city street waste bins
without regard for me or my camera.   I was pleased he did.
A big thanks go out to the hard working city workers keeping London streets clean!

January 2012 - Street Photography on Marylebone High Street

Who you looking at....

Sat out having a sandwich today and took
several photos while people watching over lunch.
It was a cool yet comfortable day and there was no rain
so there were plenty of people out on the streets.
This guy wasn't sure if I was aiming for him
or moving on to others.  Don't think he wanted to be in my photo
however he didn't say anything.

January 2012 - Street Photography

Coffee Break...
A coffee break has these two gentlemen concentrating on something!
I enjoyed the contrast in this image of the one man with a paper and the other on the computer.
No telling what they are so intently working on....
could the man with the paper be working a crossword or soduko puzzle.
Who knows..... maybe he's circling adds for jobs or housing!
Neither noticed me as I snapped a few images of them.

January 2012 - Street Photography at Leadenhall

All in a days work...

This gentleman was spotted a few months ago focused on his work -- sanding off
the name of a company making way for a new name or at least a new paint job.
Not sure if it was his concentration on the job at hand or maintaining a
steady stance on the ladder that kept his focus but there was
certainly no posing for the camera.

January 2012 - Street Photography at Paddington Park

Just a Walk in the Park...
The gentleman here was spotted during a walk earlier this year in a nearby park.  He is
such an interesting subject with the hat, walking stick, and one white glove.
I wish someone had of been walking either with him or by him
to give perspective -- he might have been a little over 5' tall.
He spoke to no one on his walk through the park.
What stories he must have to tell.... wish I had a chance to talk to him!

December 2011 - Street Photography at Stables Market

Colorful Camden....

Another image from the Camden area -- this colorful guy was spotted in Stables Market a few days ago.
The two-tone mohawk hairstyle, the almost feathery green jacket/top,
and the jewelry made for an attention getting look on his look to Stables to pick up some lunch.
He certainly stood out in the crowd with so many people wearing black and neutral colors.
Love the eclectic styles found in Camden Town and other areas of London.

January 2012 - Street Photography in Camden Town

The Piano Man...

The streets of Camden Town were alive on New Years Eve 2011.  It was a cold day
however this expressive piano player was keeping warm with his energetic performance
wearing just a cotton shirt and jeans.  He was good at his art and
had lots of folks stopping to listen as they passed by on their Saturday out in Camden Town.
I have to note...  I only realized after preparing this image for posting that
my buddy Gerry had chosen images of the same guy for his blog post today (sorry G).
So, in contrast to Gerry's black & white images and staying true to my love of pops of color
in my images,  I offer my shot as a color study of the piano man.
Best Wishes to all in 2012
